Dr. Christopher Osterhaus

Christopher Osterhaus – PortraitChristopher Osterhaus is a postdoctoral research associate in psychology at the LMU Munich. He received his MSc in psychology and MA in philosophy from the University of Amsterdam, and a doctoral degree in psychology from the Freiburg University of Education. After completing his Ph.D., he was a Feodor Lynen research fellow (funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Christopher Osterhaus received the Margret and Paul Baltes Award from the German Psychological Association in 2017 for his dissertation on the development of scientific reasoning, and he is currently an AERA-SRCD Early Career Fellow in Middle Childhood Education and Development. Christopher Osterhaus' research explores how children come to understand complex social situations and how they acquire scientific reasoning skills.

During his residency at the Center for Advanced Studies, Christopher Osterhaus will develop a framework that can be used to develop instruments that reliably measure children's complex social understanding.
