Prof. Anna Anguissola, Ph.D.
Anna Anguissola is research fellow at the Institute of Classical Archaeology of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. She did her PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and held a fellowship at Pisa and the American Academy in Rome. Her research interests encompass a variety of topics, ranging from Roman architecture, to Classical and Hellenistic sculpture, to the iconography of ancient art, and to the history of collections.
During her time as a Junior Researcher in Residence at CAS, she will complete a broad project on the role of imitation within Roman visual culture. In early 2011, she will organize an international workshop at CAS, targeted on early-career researchers, on Roman domestic architecture ("'Privata Luxuria'. Towards an archaeology of intimacy").
