Strategy and Entrepreneurship

Tony Tong is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. His research examines how firms organize internal structures and external relationships to leverage business opportunities in technological, geographical, and digital spaces. He studies these questions at the confluence of strategy, innovation, and globalization, focusing on interfirm relationships, multinational firms, patents & IPRs, platforms, and digitization.

Tony Tong has published in journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Economic Behavior & Or ganization, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Nature Scientific Data, Organization Science, Research Policy, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Organization, and Strategy Science. His research has received several awards (e.g., Strategic Management Society Best Confe rence Paper Prize). He is Cofounder of the Chinese Patent Data Project, which aims to link Chinese patents to firms and make the linked patent-firm data publically available for research.
