Prof. Chris Moore, Ph.D.

Chris Moore is Professor of Developmental Psychology at Dalhousie University in Halifax (Canada).

His specialist research area is early social-cognitive development, where he has primarily been involved with the development of social understanding. With his pioneering article „Intentional relations and social understanding“ in the renowned Journal of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, he (along with John Barresi) presented a theory of the development of social understanding which had a lasting influence on social-cognitive research into the development of intentional understanding and the theory of mind. His more recent fields of research include, the early development of the self as well as the development of prosocial behavior.

In spring 2013, Chris Moore will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow, following an invitation from Dr. Markus Paulus (CAS Junior Researcher in Residence 2013/13). During his visit, Chris Moore will be focusing on the origins of human empathy and prosociality.
