Prof. Mike Michaels, Ph.D.

Mike Michael is Professor of Sociology of Science at Goldsmiths University in London.

His areas of interest include the public perception of scholarship, the sociology of day-to-day life, animals and society, as well as design and the social sciences. His recent publications include "The Sacrifice: How Scientific Experiments Transform Animals and People" (2007) and "Technoscience and Everyday Life: The Complex Simplicities of the Mundane" (2006).

In November 2011, Professor Michaels will be at the CAS upon invitation from Michael Schillmeier, Ph.D.. He will speak on 16 November 2011 in the series "Wissenschaft erforschen – researching research" on the topic "The Object of Social Research: De-Signing, Idiocy, Event".
