David McIntyre is Michael A. Ruane Professor of Management at the Providence College School of Business. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He taught at UNC at Chapel Hill, the University of Alabama, and Providence College.

David McIntyre’s research on platform strategy and high-technology markets appears in outlets such as the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, and the MIT Sloan Management Review. He regularly consults with organizations on issues relating to strategy, innovation, and technology management. Prior to his academic career, he held positions in technology strategy with several organizations, including the Boston Red Sox and Alex. Brown Investments.

David McIntyre is a member of the CAS Research Group "Platforms as Organizational Forms" of Prof. Dr. Tobias Kretschmer.
