Stephen Clarkson is Professor of Political Economy at the University of Toronto (Canada).

He is one of Canada's most renowned political scientists. His current research activity is primarily centered on two topics: continental integration in North America and the effects of globalization and trade liberalization on the Canadian state. His most recent book "Does North America exist? Governing the Continent after NAFTA and 9/11" was published in 2008 by the University of Toronto Press.

During his visit in June 2009, Professor Stephen Clarkson, D. de Rech. (Paris) will be devising forms of future project cooperation with Prof. Dr. Edgar Grande from the Geschwister Scholl Institute of LMU. On 18 June 2009, Professor Clarkson will give a lecture as part of the series "CAS Publicum" on the topic of "The Governance of North America".
