Prof. Dr. Amos Yarom

Previous Visiting Fellow

Amos Yarom is Assistant Professor of Physics at the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) in Haifa, Israel.

His main research focus is the holographic description of strongly linked field theories with the assistance of string theory. His results particularly concern the hydrodynamic regime of strongly linked field theories and also have potential applications in the theory of condensed matter.

Amos Yarom will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow in September and October 2012 upon invitation from Prof. Dieter Lüst and Dr. Michael Haack. During his stay, he will work closely with the string theory group in Munich, especially with Prof. Dieter Lüst, Dr. Michael Haack (LMU) and Dr. Johanna Erdmenger (MPP). One intention of the cooperation is to prepare a long-term common project based on a successful GIF application of the scientists mentioned (along with Prof. Oren Bergmann, Technion, and Prof. Gilad Lifschytz, University of Haifa). Amos Yarom will give an extensive lecture in the string theory group in Munich.
