Prof. em. John Simmers, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

John Simmers is Researcher at the Institut de Neurosciences cognitives et intégratives d'Aquitaine of the Université Bordeaux.

His overall research objective is to decipher the neuronal basis of the short- and long-term functional plasticity of motor systems, with the principal experimental goal of trying to relate cellular, synaptic and neural network physiology to particular aspects of adaptive behavior.

John Simmers is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from October to December 2017 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Hans Straka. On 21 November he will give a talk at CAS with the title "Metamorphosing Xenopus: A Model System for Studying the Functional Dynamics of Interacting Neural Circuits During Development".
