Prof. Dr. Anna Schubö

Anna Schubö is Professor of Experimental Psychology at the University of Marburg. Her research examines different aspects of human perception, cognition, and action. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from LMU and the Max Planck Institute for Psychological Research in Munich (Cognition and Action Unit). She was a postdoc fellow at Erlangen and at LMU.

Schubö is particularly interested in how humans prioritize objects in a scene and how attentional control mechanisms are coordinated to guide attention to the information needed in a particular action context. Her current research interests refer to how attentional selection is affected by distractors of different salience or different value. Her methodological approach combines behavioral testing and neurophysiological methods (EEG) to examine neural markers of selection and distraction in controlled laboratory tasks, and includes eye and motion tracking to explore distractor handling in more naturalistic selection settings.

She is a Visiting Fellow in July 2022 in the context of the CAS Research Group „Handling Visual Distraction" led by Prof. Dr. Hermann Müller.
