Prof. Antal Rot, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

Antal Rot is Professor of Immunology at the University of Birmingham.

In his research he focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms, which support the in vivo function of chemokines (chemotactic cytokines). Almost 50 different homologous human chemokines signal through 20 different cognate G-protein coupled receptors to elicit multiple cellular effects, most notably, cell migration.

On 20 April 2014 Antal Rot gives a talk with the title "Chemokine System, the Cell Esperanto: Crucial Roles of Atypical Chemokine Receptors in Chemokine Grammar" at CAS.

He is visiting CAS from April to June 2014 following the invitation from Prof. Dr. Christian Weber.
