Siegfried Musser is Professor of Molecular and Cellular Medicine at Texas A&M University.

The Musser lab investigates the molecular mechanism of protein transport across: the nuclear envelope via the nuclear pore complex (NPC); and the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane via the Sec(retion) and Tat (twin-arginine translocation) machineries. He seeks to understand how large molecules such as proteins are transported across biological membranes without leakage.

Siegfried Musser is a Visiting Fellow from June to August 2019 upon invitation Dr. Dorothee Dormann (CAS Young Center). On 26 June 2019 he will give a lecture on "Investigating Nuclear Pores and Liquid Droplets via Super-Resolution Microscopy" at the BioMedical Center.
