Daniel Müller is Professor of Biophysics at the ETH Zurich.

His research group is developing bionanotechnological methods with which to quantify the inter and intra-molecular interactions of biological processes. These methods enable, for example, cellular structures on the nano-scale to be unraveled, cellular interactions at the molecular level to be quantified and localized, and communication of individual receptors of living cells to be investigated.

Daniel Müller will be at CAS as a visiting fellow in August 2012 and in February 2013 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Hermann Gaub. On 19 February 2013, as part of the CAS research focus "Synthetic Biology", he will give a lecture at CAS entitled "Small Talk: How Do Molecular Machines Shape Cellls?". In August 2013 Daniel Müller will continue the cooperation with Hermann Gaub.
