Subhanjoy Mohanty is Associate Professor of Astrophysics at Imperial College London.

He works on both the theory and observations of protoplanetary disks. In recent years, his research has focussed on understanding, through theory and numerical simulations, the roles of ionisation and magnetic fields in driving disc structure and accreation, the coupling of gas and dust in such partially ionised and magnetised disks, and planet formation out oft he gas and dust in these disk.

Subhanjoy Mohanty is member of the CAS Research Group "The Ionisation Structure of Planet Forming Discs and their Atmospheres" of Prof. Dr. Barbara Ercolano.
