François Guyot is Director at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (MNHN Paris) and Deputy Director of the Institut de Minéralogie, Physique des Matériaux et Cosmochimie (IMPMC).

The central question behind his research topic is how the properties of minerals at the atomic scale affect the properties of earth and other planets. He is an expert for Electron Microsopy (TEM, SEM, FIB) and geochemical modeling codes.

François Guyot is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from October to November 2017 and part of the CAS Research Group "Recreating the Origin of Life" of Prof. Dr. Dieter Braun. Together with Ludovic Jullien he will talk about "Reconstructing the Origin of Life: From Geology to Biology" in the research colloquium series at CAS on 9 November.
