Astrophysics

Cathie Clarke is Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge.

Her work is centred on star formation and the evolution of protoplanetary discs. In particular, she is interested in the role of self-gravity and on the interaction of energetic (ultraviolet and X-ray) radiation with the protoplanetary disc and its role in dispersing planet forming material.

Cathie Clarke is member of the CAS Research Group "The Ionisation Structure of Planet Forming Discs and their Atmospheres" of Prof. Dr. Barbara Ercolano.
