Astrophysics

Xuening Bai is Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study and in the Department of Astronomy at the Tsinghua University in Beijing.

He is a computational astrophysicist and primarily works on the gas dynamics of protoplanetary disks. At the CAS research group, he aims to work with Barbara Ercolano towards more realistic understandings on key pieces of disk microphysics, including the ionization and thermodynamics and how they affect gas dynamics in the disks and planet formation.

Xuening Bai is member of the CAS Research Group "The Ionisation Structure of Planet Forming Discs and their Atmospheres" of Prof. Dr. Barbara Ercolano.
