Prof. Ariel Zylberman, Ph.D.

Ariel Zylberman is Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, University at Albany (SUNY). Before this, he was Law and Philosophy Postdoctoral Fellow at University of California at Los Angeles (2016-2018), Research Postdoctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University (2015-2016), and SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University
(2013-2015). He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto.

Ariel Zylberman‘s research is in ethics, legal and political philosophy, and Immanuel Kant, with a central focus on relational normativity, i.e. norms that link one agent to another. With this relational focus, he wrote about rights and human rights, dignity, moral obligation, practical authority, lying, and metaethical constitutivism. His current project seeks to locate the metaphysical foundations of ethics in a relational account of action.

Ariel Zylberman is member of the CAS Research Group "Relationships in Transition: Normative Challenges" of Prof. Dr. Monika Betzler.
