Prof. Dr. Andreas T. Zanker is Assistant Professor of Classics at Amherst College in Massachusetts/USA, focusing on both Ancient Greek and Latin literature. One of his research interests is meaning and metaphor, and his second book, Metaphor in Homer: Time, Speech, and Thought (2019), applies the cognitive linguistic theory of conceptual metaphors (CMT) to the study of metaphors in the Homeric epics.
He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July 2022 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Fabian Horn (CAS Junior Researcher in Residence 2022).
