Neil Van Leeuwen is Professor in the Philosophy Department at the Georgia State University.

His research focuses on topics that have to do with belief and imagination, such as self-deception, pretend play, religious credence, mental imagery, semi-pretense, cognitive attitudes generally, and the connection between imagining and emotion.

Neil Van Leeuwen was a Visiting Fellow in March 2020 upon invitation from Dr. Anna Wehofsits (CAS Junior Researcher in Residence 2019/20). On 18 March 2020 he held together with Dr. Anna Wehofsits a workshop on "Self-Images: Current Topics in Moral Psychology".
