Glenn Schwartz is Professor of Archaeology and Chair of the Department of Near Eastern Studies at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

His research focuses on the emergence and early history of urban societies in Syria and Mesopotamia.

Glenn Schwartz is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July 2017 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Adelheid Otto and Prof. Dr. Walther Sallaberger (Senior Researcher in Residence 2016/17). On 18 July 2017 he will give a lecture on "Exploring 'Second Generation' Urbanism in Northern Mesopotamia: The Kurd Qaburstan Project".
