Frederick Reuss

Previous Visiting Fellow

Frederick Reuss is a novelist and lives in Washington.

His principal interest is centered around America's relationship to the European tradition. His novel "Mohr" (2006) uses aesthetic means to reconstruct the biography of a Jewish author and doctor who left Germany in 1934 and emigrated to Shanghai. His latest book, "A Geography of Secrets" (2010), also connects the motive of travel with the search for personal identity.

Frederick Reuss will be at CAS in October 2012 upon invitation from Prof. Christof Mauch as part of the CAS research focus "Transatlantic Cultures".
