Irina Oryshkevich is Lecturer for Italian Renaissance Art and Christian Archaeology at the Columbia University.

Her research focuses on the cult of martyrs and the historiography of the early Church in the Counter Reformation, and their impact on the nascent discipline of 'Christian archaeology'.

She is a Visiting Fellwo in July 2018 upon invitation of Prof. Dr. Martin Zimmermann in the context of the CAS Research Focus "Settlements between Diversity and Homogeneity". On 11 July she will give a lecture on "Urban Renewal vs Gentrification in New York City" in the Department of History.
