Helga Meise is Professor of Modern German Literature and Intellectual History at the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA).

Her research focuses are: literature for women, erotic and authorship in the 18th century, German Enlightenment in Bohemia, writing and reading as cultural techniques of the courtly society of the 17 and 18 century and court libraries of the 16-18 century.

Helga Meise is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from October 2015 to January 2016 and from June to July 2016 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Christine Haug (Senior Researcher in Residence 2015/16). She will participate amongst others in the international workshops "Zur sozialen Energie einer europäischen Obsession: Erotisch-pornografische Lesestoffe 1750−1850" from 27 to 29 June 2016 and "Bücher: Zwischen Materialität und Medialität" on 2 July 2016. In January as well as June to July 2017 she will be visiting CAS once again.
