Timothy Ingold holds the Chair in Social Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

His research interests are ecological approaches in anthropology and psychology, comparative anthropology of hunter-gatherer and pastoral societies; human-animal; as well as theories of evolution in anthropology, biology and history, also relations between biological, psychological and anthropological approaches to culture and social life, furthermore environmental perception, language, technology and skilled practice.

Timothy Ingold is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in February 2017 upon invitation from Dr. Martin Saxer (CAS Young Center) and gives a lecture on "How Materials correspond" in the workshop "Connecting Materialities / Material Connectivities" on 9 February 2017.
