Sabine Eckmann is the Director and Managing Curator of the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis.

Her research interests lie in the field of German and European art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Her most recent publications include "Art of Two Germanys/Cold War Cultures" (2009) and "Precarious Worlds. Contemporary Art from Germany" (2011).

Sabine Eckmann will be in Munich in February 2012 following an invitation from Prof. Burcu Dogramaci (CAS Senior Researcher in Residence 2011/12) and will give a lecture on 9 February on the topic of "Exile and Modernism: Theoretical Considerations on Artistic Exile in the 1930s and 1940s".
