Prof. Ashwini Deo, Ph.D.

Ashwini Deo is Associate Professor at the Department of Linguistics of the Ohio State University.
Her work is located at the intersection of Semantics/Pragmatics and Historical Linguistics with a focus on Indo-Aryan languages. Another important field of her work is Psycholinguistics. Deo is deeply interested in phenomena that have been labeled as involving "coercion" and the precise psychological mechanisms that underlie coercion-like interpretations and the observed processing cost.
Ashwini Deo is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from May to July and in December 2017 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Guido Seiler am CAS.
