Prof. Emanuele Coccia, Ph.D.

Emanuele Coccia is Professor of Philosophy at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris.
His research focuses on topics as broad as the history of European normativity, the philosophy of plants or images in the context of art, fashion and commercials.
Emanuele Coccia is a Visiting Fellow in January and February 2020 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Barbara Vinken, Ph.D. in the context of the CAS Research Focus "What About Art?".
On 29 January 2020, he will hold a Lunch Talk on "Die Erfindung des Lifestyles. Norm und Freiheit in der Mode". In addition he will organize together with Dr. Chiara Franceschini and Prof. Dr. Barbara Vinken, Ph.D. a workshop on "Norm und Zensur: Die Kunst der Freiheit", which will take place on 31 January 2020.
