Prof. Dr. Peter Bugge

Peter Bugge is Associate Professor of Czech and European Studies at the University of Aarhus, Denmark.

His focus is on the intersection of history and literature studies, and he is one of the leading experts on the literature and culture of Bohemia and Moravia/Czechoslovakia in the 19th and 20th centuries. His specialist research areas also include the topic of Czech nationalism and national self-perception since 1780. In 2006, he was awarded the Stanley Z. Pech Prize of the Czechoslovak Studies Association for an outstanding publication in the field of Czechoslovakian history.

From the beginning of March until mid April 2010, Peter Bugge is visiting Munich as a fellow. Here, he will cooperate with Prof. Dr. Martin Schulze Wessel from the Department of History of the LMU and will make use of the extensive library collections of the LMU and the Collegium Carolinum.
