Artisanal Knowledge in Parma around 1500. Materials and Experimentation

Speaker: Prof. Giancarla Periti, Ph.D. | Chair: Prof. Dr. Ulrich Pfisterer (LMU)

23.11.2021 at 18:15

Like canonical artistic centers, peripheral localities participated in the production and flow of works, materials, and techniques, but their network of making and exchange have remained largely overlooked. Giancarla Periti explores the works and artisanal experimentation taken in one specific off-the-axis localities, Parma, to consider the
intersections of art, materials, and techniques in the early decades of the sixteenth century.

Giancarla Periti ist Professor of Art History at the University of Toronto and currently Visiting Fellow at CAS.
