The Dilute Bose

Speaker: Prof. Søren Fournais, Ph.D. | Chair: Prof. Thomas Østergaard Sørensen, Ph.D. (LMU)

12.07.2019 at 14:15

The energy of the dilute Bose gas has attracted much attention in recent years. Though the correct formula was already known to physicists more than 50 years ago, the proof of the leading order term was only rigorously established by Lieb and Yngvason in 1998. In his talk, Søren Fournais will discuss recent work on the leading correction term in the energy expansion. The focus will be on the lower bound.

Søren Fournais is Professor of Mathematics at Aarhus University and currently Visiting Fellow at CAS.
