"Next Generation AI" Topic II: AI and Domain Knowledge
Roundtable
26.01.2022
Applications are equipped with specific domain knowledge such as (physical) knowledge about the acquisition of data, i.e., in medical imaging. It has been recognized that incorporating domain knowledge in AI systems can boost their performance significantly. This is particularly important for “small data” applications, where domain knowledge can compensate for small training data sets. But how can domain knowledge be optimally used? Asked provocatively, does AI only need to be advanced further to be able to automatically learn domain knowledge merely from available data?
This is the scond of a series of four roundtables where LMU researchers will discuss the topic of "Next Generation AI".
