Synthetic biology is a new interdisciplinary branch within Life Sciences. Synthetic biology refers to the (re-)design and fabrication of biological parts, circuits, organisms and even ecosystems. The third workshop within the course of the CAS research focus "Synthetic Biology" concentrates on synthetic ecosystems. Biologists, physicists and linguists will discuss the basis of interspecies’ interactions and the importance of communication for cooperation, group formation, and coexistence of different organisms.
