Combining Aggregate and Individual Data in Ecological Inference

Referent: Prof. Kevin Quinn | Moderation: Prof. Dr. Paul W. Thurner

13.06.2013 at 16:15

In his talk Kevin Quinn will discuss his work with Jim Greiner involving ecological inference for arbitrarily large 2-way tables. The first portion of the talk will discuss their probability model for ecological data along with Bayesian inference for that model. Professor Quinn will then discuss their later work that shows how small amounts of individual-level data can be used to dramatically improve the quality of the ecological estimates. Here he will discuss considerations for developing efficient sampling designs as well as the details of the model for both individual and ecological data. The talk will finish with some practical considerations for conducting exit polls.

Kevin Quinn ist Professor für Recht an der UC Berkeley School of Law und derzeit Visiting Fellow am CAS.
