CAS Research Groups
The Center for Advanced Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) serves as a forum for intensive interdisciplinary academic exchange. In order to intensify cooperation between researchers at LMU Munich and leading experts from other universities, the Center for Advanced Studies has set up a major new program, the CAS Research Groups.
The Center for Advanced Studies offers professors of LMU from all faculties the opportunity to engage in long-term cooperative research with internationally renowned researchers. During their residency at the CAS, successful applicants can be released from their teaching obligations for a maximum of two semesters.
A new Fellowship program is part of the CAS Research Group program. The fellowships are addressed to establish investigators in areas related to the topics covered by the Research Groups concerned and are being internationally advertised.
Fellowships may be granted for periods of up to 12 months. Applications are assessed and Fellows selected by the Head of the relevant CAS Research Group.
Two Research Groups are going to start their work at the Center for Advanced Studies in October 2017, one in the field of Natural Sciences, the other in the Humanities:
