Helle Sjøvaag, Ph.D.

Helle Sjøvaag is a Researcher at the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen.
Her research focuses mainly on the structural conditions of journalism, including the impact of ownership, regulation and professional ideology on news output in broadcast, print and online media. Sjøvaag currently leads a 4-year research project funded by the Norwegian Research Council investigating diversity levels within the Norwegian news media landscape.
In January 2015 she is a visiting fellow at CAS following an invitation from Prof. Dr. Thomas Hanitzsch (CAS Senior Researcher in Residence 2014/15).
