Prof. Daniel McFadden, Ph.D.

Daniel McFadden is the E. Morris Cox Professor of Economics and Director of the Econometrics Laboratory at the Department of Economics of the University of California, Berkeley.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2000 for his groundbreaking development of econometric models of consumer decisions.

During his visit in Munich, Professor McFadden will work with Prof. Dr. Joachim Winter and Dr. Florian Heiss from the Faculty of Economics of the LMU on an ongoing research project concerning the extension of the US health system (Medicare Part D). On 2 April 2009 at 6pm, Professor McFadden will give a lecture at the CAS on his current research work as part of the "Thursday-Lecture" series. In addition, the doctoral students working empirically at the Faculty of Economics will have the opportunity to discuss research projects with Professor McFadden in a doctoral workshop.
