Thomas E. Spencer is the Baxter Professor of Beef Research at Washington State University.

His research interests are hormonal, cellular and molecular mechanisms which regulate the development and function of the uterus and the placenta in sheep, cows and mice.

In September 2011, Thomas Spencer will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow upon invitation from Dr. Stefan Bauersachs from the Laboratorium für funktionale Genomanalyse (LAFUGA) and the Chair for Molecular Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology at the Gene Center. Together, they will discuss current and future research projects. During his stay, Thomas Spencer will give a lecture in the Reprozentrum, an interdisciplinary consortium of scholars at the LMU.
