Roald Hoffmann is an American theoretical chemist who won the 1981 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. A distinguished scientist and an effective communicator of science, he is also an accomplished playwright and poet. Roald Hoffmann is the Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters, Emeritus, at Cornell University in Cornell, New York. He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in October 2016 upon invitation by Prof. Dr. Dirk Trauner.

Professor Hoffmann will give a lecture entitled "Two New Games for Carbon, We Hope". The lecture will take place on 4 October 2016 at 5 p.m. at the Bavarian Center for Molecular Biosystems (BioSys-M).

In addition to this, he will also attend the premiere of the German-language version of his autobiographical play, entitled "What Belongs to You", which will take place on 5 October 2016, 7.30 p.m. at the Pasinger Fabrik, Munich.
