Tim Browning is a reader at the School of Mathematics of the University of Bristol.

His specialist research area is the common ground between analytical number theory and diophantic geometry. He is concerned, for example, with Manin's Theorem on the distribution of rational points over certain algebraic varieties.

In April 2012, Tim Browning will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow following an invitation from Prof. Ulrich Derenthal (CAS Senior Researcher in Residence). The goal of his visit is the continuation of the existing scholarly cooperation between himself and Ulrich Derenthal.
