Prof. Xin Yu, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

Xin Yu is Professor of Medieval Chinese History at Fudan University in Shanghai.

His research interests are Medieval China, Central Asia, History of Science, Natural History, Manuscript Cultures, and Dunhuang manuscripts. Currently, he is interested in the transfer of knowledge along the Silk Road. He is an expert in the history of Medieval China and Central Asia. His research areas include the study of manuscripts from the cities of Turfan and Dunhuang. Currently, he is interested in the transfer of knowledge along the Silk Road.

Xin Yu is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July and August 2015 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Martin Lehnert and will be part of the workshop "Popular Religions and Manuscript Culture in Medieval China".
