Prof. Jeremi Suri, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

Jeremi Suri is the Mack Brown Distinguished Professor of Global Leadership, History and Politics at the University of Texas at Austin.

His research interests concern global transformation processes of the 20th century such as war, migration, nation-building and educational expansion. In fall 2011, his latest book was released entitled "Liberty's Surest Guardian: American Nation-building from the Founders to Obama".

Jeremi Suri will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow in June 2012. This follows an invitation from Dr. Ariane Leendertz as part of the CAS research focus "Transatlantic Cultures". During his stay, he will give a lecture on June 12 on the subject of "Human Rights and Nation-Building after 1968: Writing International History of the Recent Past".
