Walid Saleh is Associate Professor at the Department for the Study of Religion and Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations of the University of Toronto.

His areas of interest are the Qur’an, the history of Quranic exegesis, apocalyptic literature, theological literature of medieval Islam and Arabic literature.

Walid Saleh is a Visting Fellow at CAS from June to August 2016 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Ronny Vollandt. On 30 June 2016 he will give a talk with the title "A Muslim Hebraist? Al-Biqa`i and the Bible in 15th Century Cairo".
