Elizabeth Rankin has been Professor of Art History at the University of Auckland since 1998.

Her current works include a biography of Peter Clarke, which was released last year to coincide with two large retrospectives of the South African artist in Johannesburg and Capetown. In 2011, she also curated the exhibition "Collateral: Printmaking as Social Commentary" in the Gus Fisher Gallery of the University of Auckland.

In April 2012, Elizabeth Rankin will be at the CAS as a visiting fellow following an invitation from Prof. Dr. Rolf Schneider. They will work together as part of the project "From Paper Sketches to Carrara Marble: Designing the Frieze of the Voortrekker Monument".
