Daniel T. Potts is Professor of Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology and History at the New York University.

His main areas of interest are Iran, Mesopotamia and the Persian Gulf and as a field archaeologist he has conducted excavations in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July 2016, July 2017 and July/August 2018 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Karen Radner.
