Prof. Laurie Paul, Ph.D.

Laurie Paul is Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her research concentrates on metaphysics and philosophy of mind, focusing on questions concerning phenomenology, perception, time, temporal experience, mereology, causation, identity, constitution and essence. She also has interests in philosophical questions involving decision-making, methodology, cognitive science, aesthetics, and the philosophy of science.

Laurie Paul is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in October 2016 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Monika Betzler in the context of the CAS Research Focus "Moral Behavior". On 25 October she will give a lecture on "Imagining Transformation and Empathy for Future Selves" in the context of the Workshop "Transformative Experience".
