Martin Melosi is Professor of History at the University of Houston.

Martin Melosi has received international acclaim for his work on environmental, energy and urbanization history. He is the editor of the "History of the Urban Environments Series of the University of Pittsburgh Press" and was president of the American Society for Environmental History. His most well-known works include: "The Sanitary City: Urban Infrastructure in America from Colonial Times to the Present" (2000), "Garbage in the Cities: Refuse, Reform and the Environment" (2005) and "Energy Metropolis: An Environmental History of Houston and the Gulf Coast" (2007).

Martin Melosi will be in Munich in August 2013 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Helmuth Trischler as part of the CAS research focus "Waste and Society".
