Prof. Fujii Jun, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

Fujii Jun is Associate Professor for Buddhist Studies at the Komazawa University in Tokyo.

His research interests are Japanese Buddhism, discussions between Buddhism, Confucianism and Daoism, and the Buddhist monk Kūkai. He wrote one of the most important publications on the development of Kūkai's thinking and also explained the history of Kūkai´s concept of truth.

Fujii Jun is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from August to September 2016 upon invitation from Dr. Paulus Kaufmann (Junior Researcher in Residence 2016). He will participate in the Workshop "Truth and Meaning in Buddhism" on 12 and 13 September 2016.
