Prof. Paul Fleming, Ph.D.

Paul Fleming is Professor and Director of the Institute for German Cultural Studies at the Cornell University.

Fleming's teaching and research interests include humour and notions of the comiceighteenth and nineteenth century German and European literature, especially the novel; aesthetics and hermeneutics from 1750 to the present; Critical Theory and the relation between narration and knowledge.

Paul Fleming is a Visiting Fellow at CAS in July 2017 in the context of the CAS Research Focus "Writing Prose" following an invitation from Prof. Dr. Inka Mülder-Bach. On 20 July 2017 he will give a keynote lecture on "Anectodes, or, the Prose of Politics" the context of the conference "Prosaische Wirklichkeiten".
