Prof. Kate Brown, Ph.D.

Previous Visiting Fellow

Kate Brown is Associate Professor of History at the University of Maryland.

She is the author of A Biography of No Place: From Ethnic Borderland to Soviet Heartland (Harvard 2004) which won a handful of prizes including the American Historical Association’s George Louis Beer Prize for the Best Book in International European History.

From October to November 2014 she is a visiting fellow at CAS following an invitation from Prof. Dr. Christof Mauch as part of the CAS Research Focus "Waste in Environment and Society" and participates in the conference "Whose Waste, Whose Problem?" from 23 to 25 October 2014.
